I cut the recipe in half .
Basically the recipe calls for bittersweet chocolate, butter, egg yolks, rum, and cocoa powder for rolling, how simple is that!
These were super easy to make and good.
I don't think I would roll them in cocoa powder again Because they were really chocolaty
and I really liked
all the different choices that others rolled theirs in.
I always think I have to do exactly like the book says but I'm learning.
These would be easy for a brunch or wedding!

The cocoa makes truffles extra dark chocolately. I was wanting to coat mine in white chocolate shavings to add a little more sweetness. I love how easy it is to make such a decadent treat. :)
I used to be the same way about following the recipe/directions in the book exactly :) I still do for the most part, but I will make changes if there's a particular ingredient I know we won't like.
It's good to see your still baking with the SMS group. Gosh you should be about done with the cookbook, aren't you!?
The truffles look so amazing!
I got a big box of Sees candy for Valentine's day...I enjoyed eating it but am so sick of candy!!
I, too, always feel like I should follow the instructions completely. I think it may be something about considering myself a "baker" and the need to be precise.
I decided not to make these but was going to use a liquer of some sort instead of rum. Yours look beautiful and you're right - these would be great for a wedding!
They look really good, I would like to make them:-)
