My Girls

I have not added pictures of my girls in a while.

 This was taken the week before DeAnn left to go to college.

It is hard to believe that I have 2 girls in college and a Junior. 

So thankful for the young ladies they are becoming!

Finally

I have been unable to post on my blog for months.

 My daughter said mom try the laptop and guess what....it worked!!!!!!! Yea!

Since March one thing that happened

My middle daughter graduated from High School

In more ways than you can imagine.

I have a confession ....

I'm not the girl who gets her nails done every two weeks or goes weekly to get her hair done 

or even stops in for a Special Coffee every week, lives for designer clothes or that Coach Bag

BUT

I pay to have some one fertilize my yard.

Yes, they say confession is good for the soul

and there it is my splurge! Fertilizer!

I know you are Shocked at such a thing

It has been that way for at least 13 years

Until...

This year!

 The main reason I am doing this is because in August I will have two kids 

in college and I am looking at 

saving some Green Cash for them.

So for $70 I bough a spreader and 2 bags of Scotts Fertilizer

 and I am going to try to do this myself.

 The Blue Bag goes on now

It helps fertilize the yard and kill crabgrass from starting

 And the yellow bag will go on in 6 weeks!

$20 for each of these bags and it took me a whole 30 minutes to fertilize the whole yard.

I have to admit 

I LOVE YARD WORK

I am a country girl at heart.

There...It's all out there...Confession is good for the Soul!

They were beautiful for 2 weeks and our house smelled divine...

Happy 19th Birthday Darci Joy Cowell

 Today is Darci's 19th Birthday!

 Wow! has time flown by. 

Wasn't it just yesterday when she was born.

 We took her to Olive Garden to celebrate!

It was fun to have lunch with all three girls.

 

This is how my bedroom finally turned out.

I had these drapes they were in this bedroom when we moved here.

This is what our bedroom looked like the week we moved in.

The walls were a dark green

  

Yep, the first thing we painted in the house

'

 The color we choose was Comfort Grey by Sherwin Williams

I love the color but have been struggling as to how to decorate around the room.

They say you should pick out your bedding or rug first but no I wanted this cool, calming color!

 So I got a white quilt, made some accent pillows and Made a dust ruffle to match!

 I Have changed all the hardware on the dressers , since most of them had fallen off or broken.

Pretty exciting to get to use the power tools and do it myself!

I felt like a big girl

Would still love to paint this furniture but I haven't been able to talk my husband in to it yet....

 I painted my bathroom a half shade lighter

 And now comes the questions....

I found this bedspread at Home Goods and thought the colors would match

 

My husband likes the full bedspread but I think I would need to make or buy another bedskirt

I'm not so sure I like it ?

 

 I think this is my favorite look, 

a little of both!

Word of the Year

On December 29th our cousins from Alaska were here for a visit.

 We talked about picking a word to guide our year,

 I had already been thinking about it from reading all the blogs.

 It was a great way to get everyone talking and find out where they were at. 

I picked "Gentle".

Actually Denae suggested it and I thought it was perfect.

So I have made it a goal of mine for 2013.

To be gentle with my words, in the way i deal with others

I am so excited that I am starting a mentoring relationship

with a much younger lady and I want to be Gentle in the way I care for her heart.

Gentle with my husband....

Gentle with my girls....

Gentle with my patients....

Gentle is a fruit of the spirit and I want to embrace this as a goal for the year.
