The end of an era...

Yesterday was a bittersweet day for our family.
I am now the mother of a 7th,9th and 10th grader.
Denae had a big farewell party for 6th grade.Notice all the colors.
They all got special t-shirts to remember the year and then had an all day party.
I was in charge of the Karaoke booth.
The kids had fun blasting out but I was ready for a little peace/quiet when it was over.
We had fun last night teasing her about being a "Sevie"
DeAnn had an 8th grade promotion, like a graduation.
I had never heard of such a thing until we moved here. They try to make it a mini prom/graduation all rolled up in one.

She got dressed up, she even got her toenails done.
It was fun to see her without a bun,t-shirt or tennis shoes! I had to have her sit for this picture because she is 8 inches taller than me with those heels.

As you can tell the girls went all out.

Deann was chosen out of 2oo plus kids to give the commencement/Promotion address.

She spoke about choices , and used the poem by Robert Frost "A Road Not Taken".
She is a fast talker and we were afraid that she would blast through the thing
but she did a great job.

Getting her certificate

And with her sisters.

It was a fun day....
