Sour Cherry Pie with Pistachio Crumble

This weeks Sweet Melissa Sunday included Melissa's favorite and best-selling pie,
Sour Cherry Pie with Pistachio Crumble. It was chosen by Michelle at Flour child.
I love Cherry pie so I was excited to make this from scratch.
The pie crust was simple and a recipe that I will make again.
I used 2 pounds of fresh cherries, I spent about an hour removing all the pits.
It took about the same amount of time to remove the pistachios from the shell and then to crush them. My Mother-in-law was here for the graduation day so I put her to work. The recipe said put the pie on the bottom third of the oven
and put on a baking sheet and bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
However, my pie turned out a bit runny so I moved it up and
took it off the cookie sheet and then it set up.
We thought the topping was perfect and the pie was delicious!
